2022 Korean Lunar New Year (Seollal) - Special Programs

In celebration of this year's Korean Lunar New Year (Seollal), the Korean Cultural Centre is pleased to host various special events.



1. Seollal Traditions and Foods Quiz


Join our Seollal traditions and foods quiz event. We will select the top 20 scorers and send you a gift!

2. Hanji Goebul Wind Chime Making Class


The KCC is pleased to host a Korean traditional craft class, Hanji Goebul Wind Chime Making, with the KCC instructor Ms. Eunjung Cho. Goebul is a triangular-shaped fruit that lives on an old lotus root. The three-pointed ears of Goebul are believed to have power to repel demons. Traditionally in Seollal, Korean ladies made Goebul accessories for their families to bring them blessings while repressing evil spirits throughout the year. Join the class and make your own piece of hanji Goebul wind chime for the good luck of your family.

3. Origami Card Design Class (For Children)


In celebration of this year's Korean Lunar New Year (Seollal), the Korean Cultural Centre is pleased to host "2022 Korean Lunar New Year (Seollal) Origami Card Design Class for Children" on Wednesday, Feb 02, 2022 at 4 PM (EST). Come join us in making your own 2022 New year card for your loved ones!


* Date: Wednesday, Feb 02, 2022 at 4 PM - 5:30 PM (EST) (90mins)

* Required tools: Coloring pencil crayons, Glue stick, Scissors

4. Calligraphy Card Design Class


The KCC is pleased to open a Calligraphy Card Design Class with a special guest instructor from Korea, Ms. Jieun Lee. Come join us in making your own special Calligraphy Card to send hopeful messages to your loved ones!
