Korean Cultural Centre Canada Hosts School Visit Program, Engaging Over 2,700 Students in Korean Cultural Experiences The Korean Cultural Centre Canada (KCC) conducted its annual school visit program from April to November, offering elementary, middle, and high school students in the national capital region the opportunity to experience a wide range of Korean cultural activities. As part of this year’s initiative, the KCC visited 84 classes across 29 elementary schools. Through presentations and interactive quizzes introducing various aspects of Korean culture, students were able to build knowledge and develop an interest in Korea naturally. In addition, students from six high schools visited the KCC in person, where they directly participated in a variety of cultural experiences. More than 2,500 elementary students took part in hands-on activities such as creating traditional Korean fans, crafting traditional pattern cutouts, making Taegeukgi-themed pens, and folding paper hanbok. Meanwhile, over 150 high school students who visited the KCC engaged in activities including crafting keychains inspired by hanbok and Korean travel themes, as well as learning K-pop dance routines, thereby encountering both traditional and contemporary Korean culture. A highlight of the program was the hanbok try-on experience, which allowed students to appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of traditional Korean attire and to strengthen their familiarity with Korean culture. Students also enjoyed traditional games such as gonggi, ddakji, jegichagi, and tuho, gaining firsthand experience with Korea’s rich recreational culture. The KCC plans to continue offering diverse cultural programs to ensure students of all ages can enjoy and explore Korean culture.
