The Korean Cultural Centre and the CJ Cultural Foundation are thrilled to co-present "STORY UP Shorts in CANADA" on Friday, August 30 at 7 PM at the Korean Cultural Centre. "STORY UP Shorts in CANADA" showcases films by aspiring young Korean directors who dream of making an impact on world cinema, following in the footsteps of BONG Joon-Ho and PARK Chan-Wook. Through the screening of three award-winning films, viewers will have the opportunity to delve into the unique perspectives of these emerging directors and connect with their compelling stories. The program will feature <Light It Up at 2 AM>(2022, YOO Jong-Seok), <Slaughter>(2023, YUN Do-Yeong), and <Forest of Echoes>(2023, LIM Yoo-Ri). [Korean Film Screenings] There are 7 Korean feature films, including <FAQ>, <The Killers>, <Brave Citizen>, <4 PM>, <Mash Ville>, <The Roundup: Punishment> and <The Tenants>, and 20 short films at Fantasia this year. [Korean Cultural Centre Cultural Experience Program] During the festival period, Fantasia and the Korean Cultural Centre Canada proudly present the Korean Culture Boxes exhibition. The Korean Culture Boxes will provide an interactive journey for understanding and experiencing the lifestyle of Koreans. Hansik Box: The Hansik boxes are designed to provide an easy and joyful introduction to hansik (Korean food) for all Fantasia audiences. These interactive exhibition boxes offer an enjoyable experience of Korean food culture, allowing audiences to discover their favourite Korean dishes. Hanbok Box: The Hanbok Box offers a unique opportunity for audiences to try on hanbok, the traditional Korean clothing, along with various types of hats. Immerse yourself in the unique beauty of Korea with the Hanbok Box.
