K-tigers Taekwondo Performance [Oct 01, 2016]
On the occasion of the grand opening of the Korean Cultural Centre in Canada,K-Tigers visited Ottawa to show their fantastic performance on October 1, 2016 at the Centrepointe Theatre.
Among thousands of comments praising how impressive their moves are, a number of viewers said they were inspired by the group to take up the Korean traditional martial art, something that the K-Tigers have been aiming for since the group’s humble beginnings in 1990. The K-Tigers, with a reputation of being one of the best Taekwondo demonstration teams around, started performing with music around 2000 with a focus on presenting Taekwondo not only as a sport, but a product that can lead the cultural industry – a solution that proved to be the winning formula for the contemporary generation always hungry for the latest and coolest digital content.
The K-Tigers separate themselves from other typical demonstration teams in that they take in young athletes recruited from across Korea and train them as professional performing artists. As members of the K-Tigers, many of the athletes are now establishing their careers in live performance, as well as film and digital entertainment.
There were 800 audiences who came to watch K-tigers performance. After the show, K-tigers members and audiences enjoyed reception where they could talk to each other, take pictures together and could get K-tigers autographs.
