[Virtual K-Culture #95] K-Food Webtoon : Budaejjigae
- Post DateDec 08, 2020
The 15th episode of K-Food Webtoon Series is budaejjigae!
Today, we would like to introduce budaejaejjigae. Budae-jjigae, first created during the Korean War, has a relatively short history. The budaejjigae, which literally translates as "Army base stew" originated from the US Army bases in Korea. Then, as Koreans started adopting the idea of using sausage and ham in broth, it quickly became one of the Koreans’ favorite fusion stew.
The KCC launched the K-Food Webtoon series last April to introduce Korean food and recipes to provide an opportunity to learn how to cook and try Korean food from home. We hope you enjoy these recipes and continue to experience Korean culture at home.
Sunmin Han worked as the head chef at the Korean Ambassador’s residence in Canada. She graduated from the International Cooking College in Korea, has a certificate from the Institute of Korean Traditional Food, and worked as the head chef at the Korean Embassy in Indonesia.
