ROM After-Dark: K-Culture

The Embassy of Canada, the Korean Cultural Center and KOCIS successfully collaborated with the Royal Ontaio Museum in hosting the ROM After-Dark: K-Culture on September 16, 2022.


ROM After Dark (RAD), one of the most popular programs at ROM, was fully decorated with various Korean cultural activities such performances, live music, and Korean food and more. As special guests, six-member K-Pop boy group "P1Harmony" decorated the stage and local cover dance teams "HAVOC" and "RPM Dance Crew" performed as well as held K-pop dance classes for eager audiences.


Various Korean cultural booths and stations were set up as well. Karaoke open mic ran the entire night, as well DJs playing K-Pop mix songs through the museum.

Screenigs of three short animation films: Director Oh Ji-hyun's Manimals, Director Lee Ju-i's Apartment, and Yang Hyun-seo's Shining Night, was available as well as a space to learn and savor Korean traditional tea with sommelier Park froim Soocha Tea. Traditional Korean music and live band music was played by Haneum ensemble and Jay Yoo Quartet. Finally, many audiences took pictures at the Hanbok photo zone where they tried on traditional dresses.
