Korea Culture & Arts Association for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities ArtWeCan

Established in July 2013, ArtWeCan aims to pave the way for disabled artists who face challenges in realizing their unique dreams due to their disabilities. Our organization is dedicated to offering comprehensive music education and performance platforms for individuals with developmental disabilities who have either pursued music as a major field of study or are engaged in music-related studies. Moreover, we facilitate pathways for these talented individuals to transition into professional performers, fostering their independence through the realm of music. Collaboratively, we strive to foster opportunities for people with disabilities to engage, communicate, and connect with the broader public through the medium of culture and arts. By laying the groundwork for self-reliance, we empower them to pursue lives filled with happiness and fulfillment.

Rolston String Quartet

Formed amidst the artistic energy of the Banff Centre's Chamber Music Residency in 2013, the Rolston String Quartet is an embodiment of excellence in chamber music and quartet performance. Their history is full of praise and acclaim. In 2016, they scored significant victories at the Banff International String Quartet Competition, Chamber Music Yellow Springs Competition, and Astral's National Auditions, and they expanded their global recognition after becoming the inaugural international recipient of the prestigious Cleveland Quartet Award in 2018.

Paying homage to Canadian violinist Thomas Rolston, a guiding force behind Banff Centre's Music and Sound Programs, the quartet is a testament to his legacy. All original members are graduates of The Glenn Gould School (GGS), where their fervour for chamber music was ignited and nurtured under the skilled guidance of Barry Shiffman. Experience the harmonious journey of the Rolston String Quartet, where passion meets artistry, and where musical brilliance comes to life.
