[2023 Korea Week] K-FEST (06.10)
In celebration of the 60th diplomatic anniversary between Korea and Canada and as the main event of KCC's 2023 Korea Week, we are delighted to host the largest festival yet, "K-FEST", a full day of events for everyone.
Key events during the K-Fest
Cultural Booths: 13:00 – 21:00
Various cultural booths are set up to experience Korean culture. All booths will be in operation from the start (13:00) till late in the evening (21:00).
Institute of Traditional Korean Food:
Replica Exhibition of Royal Palace food of Joseon Dynasty. The first 50 patrons arriving at every mid-hour (13:30, 14:30, 15:30, 16:30, 17:30, 18:30 & 19:30) will receive traditional snack han-gwa & tea!
Korea Tourism Organization:
Experience stunning Korean tourist spots here in Ottawa! Three spots are selected for patrons to take pictures with their friends & loved ones.
There are also game competitions designed for everyone. Participate in fun games and win prizes!
If you don’t feel like competing in games, you can still win prizes by completing simple surveys.
Korean Community Association of Ottawa
Experience wearing hanbok – traditional Korean clothes.
Also enjoy practicing Hangul calligraphy, and traditional games provided by the Korean Community here in Ottawa.
Visitors will be given a small commemorative prize (stocks limited)
Korean Culture Box by the National Folk Museum of Korea:
Come and learn about Korea and its language and culture, as provided by the National Folk Museum of Korea. Interactive displays will be present to give you a better understanding of Korea and its history and culture.
The Korean Cultural Centre Canada:
Through games and activities of Roulette Challenge, Hangeul Fan Letters, K-pop Mix & Match and VR Experience, have fun experiencing Korean culture and receive amazing prizes such as KINGDOM polaroids and albums, mother of pearl mirrors and sheet masks!
Opening Ceremony: 17:00 – 18:30
The official opening ceremony for the 2023 Korea Week will be held. Congratulatory speeches, including one from the His Excellency Ambassador Lim Woongsoon, are scheduled. The ceremony will be honoured by performances including gugak performances, a national anthem performance by the Ottawa Children’s Choir, and performances from the Korean National Sport University.
2023 K-Pop Cover Dance Festival & A Special Stage: 19:00 onwards
K-Pop Cover Dance Festival, a beloved festival for K-Pop fans, unfolds here in Ottawa. Co-hosted with Seoul Shinmun Daily, the festival features top 13 teams from the preliminary rounds ready to face fierce competition for the chance to represent Canada at the World Stage in Seoul, Korea.
A special stage is prepared as the finale to this grand night. Solo K-Pop artist, and formerly the leader of IZ*ONE, ‘Kwon Eun Bi’ and boyband ‘Kingdom’ will decorate the stages of K-Fest as special guests.
Directions and Transporation
Lansdowne Park, where K-Fest is held, is expected to be busy with various events and surrounding area will be expectedly busy too. Therefore, there are no parking spaces available at Lansdowne Park and nearby TD Place during the event, so the use of public transportation or parking lots at a distance from the venue is highly recommended. For the patrons, the KCC has planned to provide public transportation support and operate a shuttle bus service to and from the venue.
Shuttle Bus: 16:00 – 23:00
Shuttle bus services will be in operation from nearby Carleton University car park*, departing from Lot 7, to Aberdeen Pavilion, a close proximity to Great Lawn. The service is completely free of charge for all patrons, and is expected to run at 10 to 15 minutes intervals (depending on traffic) starting from 16:00 with last shuttle departing from Aberdeen Pavilion at 23:00.
To provide shuttle service and to accommodate for high number of pedestrians present at the venue location, some roads at Lansdowne Park will be closed.

Public Transport
If you have registered via Eventbrite, you can use Ottawa public transport for free 90minutes before and after the event – from 11:30 to 23:30.
You will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite on successful registration:
Use the link on the email, or via Eventbrite website, to print ticket. You can also use Eventbrite app to download eTicket.
Please show your ticket to use public transport for free during the specified time.
Just like shuttle service mentioned, you can also use the Carleton University car park* and use public transport. There is a bus service at University Drive (Bus No. 7) that stops at TD Place (Bank Street).

Attendees must validate their parking using either the payment link or QR Code below.
Parking is $6.00 for the day. Those who do not validate may be ticketed. The Link is for Lot P7.
IMPORATNT
The event starts from 13:00. Attendees are not permitted to enter the event grounds, which will be visibly marked. Security guards are present to escort anyone who breached the perimeter. This is for safety of performance team and the staffs, and to ensure the event can go live as scheduled. Please respectfully keep your distance.
Approaching restricted areas, taking photo or filming of rehearsal and other preparation is strictly prohibited at the requests of the performers. The KCC is not responsible for any damages or disadvantages that may occur from violating these rules.
For dedicated fans and attendees arriving early for the event, the KCC will create a waiting line from 11:00, with exact information to be revealed on the day of the event. Any other lines formed will not be recognized, and event securities may intervene.
Please refrain from acts that may cause offence to other people. This includes, but not limited to act of violence, physical and verbal abuse, obscenity, and indecency among others.
This is an outdoor, standing event. For the safety of patrons, the event may be cancelled or changed in case of severe weather conditions.
The event is smoke-free (inc. e-cigs & marijuana), and alcohol-free. You are not permitted to enter the event grounds with your own alcoholic beverage. Anyone violating this rule will be asked to leave the premises.
