[Exhibition-Related Program] Conversation with Production Designer HAN Ah-rum (October 28)

The Korean Cultural Centre Canada (KCC), in collaboration with the Korean Film Archive (KOFA), is pleased to present a special conversation with production designer HAN Ah-rum on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, as part of the exhibition <Production Design: Scene Architects Build On-Screen Worlds>.
HAN Ah-rum is an acclaimed Korean production designer who received the Best Art Direction Award at the 43rd Blue Dragon Film Awards for <Kingmaker>(2022). His notable works also include <Kill Boksoon>(2023) and <I, the Executioner>(2024), showcasing his distinctive approach to creating cinematic worlds.
During this special conversation, HAN Ah-rum will share insights into his major works and creative process, exploring how stories on the page are transformed into cinematic scenes through concept development and spatial design. The talk will offer a closer look at the role of production design in bringing a film's historical setting, characters' emotions, and overall atmosphere to life.
The event will begin with a screening of <Kingmaker>(2022), directed by BYUN Sung-hyun and featuring production design by HAN Ah-rum, at 4:30 PM. The exhibition opening and conversation with the production designer will follow at 6:40 PM.
We invite you to join us for this special opportunity to hear directly from the creative mind behind the visual worlds of Korean cinema.
