Call for curators 2022 - Results Announcement
In the lead-up to the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Korea and Canada in 2023, the Korean Cultural Centre Canada (KCC) opened a call for curators to submit new exhibition proposals. The call aims to celebrate our solid bilateral relations between the two countries while opening up critical dialogues to envision a closer relationship for the next generation to come.
The call was open for two months from February 22 to April 22. The following works were selected as the finalists through a panel of art experts.
Conversation Works of Diasporic Korean Canadians by Hong KAL & Vicki KWON,
Two rivers, crossed landscape by Hyunju YU,
Art + language by the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, and
ENTANGLEMENTS by Paola POLETTO.
The judges in the jury committee for this call were;
Josée Drouin-Brisebois (Senior Curator, Contemporary Art, National Gallery of Canada),
Peter Simpson (Author at artsfile, former Visual Arts Editor at Ottawa Citizen), and
Kimberly Chung (Assistant Professor & Korea Foundation Professorship in Korean Studies at McGill University).
The selected works will be visualized and presented at the KCC Gallery from the second half of 2022 to the end of 2023.
