[Virtual K-Culture #42] K-Food Webtoon: Samgye-tang
The fifth episode of K-Food Webtoon Series continues with Chef Han. Today we would like to introduce Samgye-tang, a must-eat dish in the summer! The hot summer is the season to consume chicken. It is common in Korea for many restaurants which do not have Samgye-tang on their menu to offer it in the hot summer season, which demonstrates the tremendous popularity of this soup.
The KCC launched the K-Food Webtoon series last April to introduce Korean food and recipes to provide an opportunity to learn to cook and try Korean food from home. We hope you will try these recipes and continue to experience Korean culture at home.

About ‘Samgye-tang’
Samgye-tang is made by simmering a whole young chicken stuffed with ginseng, hedysarum root, jujubes and sweet(glutinous) rice. Considered an energy-boosting dish best eaten during Sambok (Chobok, Jungbok, and Malbok), the hottest days of the lunar year, it is a classic Korean dish that has become popular among international diners as well.
