For the latest Virtual K-Culture series, we would like to post this second K-Food Webtoon introducing Galbi-jjim! In collaboration with chef Sunmin Han, the main chef at the Ambassador’s Residence of the Republic of Korea in Canada, we would like to introduce one of the most popular menu items served at the Ambassador’s Residence. 

Sunmin Han is currently posted in Canada as the head chef at the Korean Ambassador’s Residence. She graduated from the International Cooking College in Korea, certified by the Institute of Korean Traditional Food and worked as the head chef at the Korean Embassy in Indonesia.

About ‘Galbi-jjim’

Galbi-jjim has been regarded as a high–class royal dish. A lot of people enjoy meat on the grill however it’s much healthier when you steam(Jjim). In traditional cuisine, many of the jjim dishes were developed and among many other jjim dishes, galbi-jjim was the most popular. Nowadays, galbi-jjim is as popular as galbi-gui(Korean barbecue) due to the rise of interest in the “well-being”trend throughout the world.
