May 22, 2020 | 422 Hit

We are happy to post the third episode of K-Food Webtoon Series! In collaboration with chef Sunmin Han, the head chef at the Ambassador’s Residence of the Republic of Korea to Canada, we would like to introduce a Korean noodle menu that could be ready in just 30 minutes.

The KCC launched the K-Food Webtoon series last April to introduce Korean food and its recipes to provide an opportunity to learn to cook and try Korean food from home.

Sunmin Han is currently posted in Canada as the head chef at the Korean Ambassador’s residence. She graduated from the International Cooking College in Korea, has a certificate from the Institute of Korean Traditional Food and worked as the head chef at the Korean Embassy in Indonesia.

About ‘Bibim-guksu’

Bibim-guksu (Spicy mixed noodles) was originally made with soy sauce. It was a dish of the royal court, and thus made with lavish ingredients. The Spicy Bibim-guksu appears only after the Korean War. It was only when wheat flour became widely available after the Korean War that we began to eat wheat flour noodles mixed with Gochujang and Kimchi, as a dish today known as Bibim-guksu a summertime delicacy for Koreans. Its generous portion of cucumbers will cool down your overheated body and quench thirst, helping relieve swelling by acting as a diuretic.
